All the hours I worked last week have caught up with me, and I spent my weekend Sick Sick Sick. I probably should have spent most of my time in bed resting, bit of course I didn't.
We didn't do anything spectacular, yet didn't really stop moving either. I just took a dose of Nyquil (in hopes of kicking this thing) so here are a few pics from our weekend....

Friday Night Leftovers.....over and out
Sorry no badge this week!
- I am so overwhelmed at work right now. Every day I come in there are 3 new tasks assigned for me. I am the owner of several new initiatives and processes. I interviewed 3 people this week to fill the open role I have, 2 of the 3 are strong, however no one is really EXACTLY what I want.
- I have worked 14+ hours every day this week. When I submitted my time today I had logged 68 hours....
- Even though I worked all that time, I made it to the gym 3 times! The blueberry pie and/or ice cream I ate every night was probably not a great idea.
- I drive to and from work a new way because of some construction. I drive passed Starbucks now. This has been bad for my wallet. I never stop on the way in, but every day I stop on the way home. I love Starbucks.
- With my new car I get XM radio free for 3 months. Good thing it is free because I think it sucks. I get poor satellite reception. It cuts in and out. The stations are mediocre. Why would I spend $15-$19 a month when I can just plug my Ipod into the car?
- Before I forget.....New Post here. If you want access you will need to leave your email in comments or email me at kendallrand at com cast dot net. If you "know" me in real life, chances are I may not grant you access. Don't take it personal.
- It is now 6pm and I am so ready for a cold beer.

Friday Night Leftovers....I'm on time!
Ahh yes! I managed to remeber two weeks in a row!! Maybe last week doesn't count since I was a day late....Danifred host's us on a weekly basis and this week she announced some AWESOME news!! Swing over to congratulate her and Bee!
- My new job is totally overwhelming. I NEED to hire someone ASAP to fill the role I have open because that work alone consumes every moment I have during the day.
- I have today off! We are heading up to the Boston area (if T ever gets up!) to see a friend and her family. I have not seen her in close to 15 years (maybe closer to 17) and have not seen her Mom or sister in close to 25 years. They will be there for a family reunion along with her Hubby and their 18month old twins.
- I did really well the last several weeks with not biting my nails, and then last night driving home I caught myself doing it. Disgusting! So I cut them all off and will start fresh again.
- It has been close to a 100 degrees here for days with a couple more ahead. Watching the news that is all they talk about. While I enjoy the summer, the oppressive heat and humidity I could do without, however you will never get a complaint out of me because I would take this over 36 inches of snow and -10 degrees ANY DAY!
- Facebook status's about air conditioners are pissing me off this week....a) because our house is not air conditioned and b) because how many of us had A/C growing up? I didn't and I survived.
- My MIL looked at a short sale condo here in my town this week. It is in a golf community with an AWESOME pool. Ooooh I hope she buys it! 3 miles from my house with a Pool! WIN for me!
- This is the first time in several years that I have more color on my body than T. In passed years he was out chartering or fishing a lot and would be so dark (more red - he doesn't get the fact that sun screen needs to go on not stay in the bottle). With all the sun I have had this year (and I were SPF45) I am looking pretty tan, not too dark, but not pale-see through-ghost white like usual.
- I won tickets to see Lucinda Williams and Amos Lee on Facebook this week. Kick Ass! My dilema is that one of my sister's best friends is having a huge 40th birthday party the same night and I had RSVP'ed for it......I am NOT one to cancel or bag out on people, however I may need to this time.
- I am still in love with my new car. I really haven't minded the commute so much and did not have to fill my gas tank until Thursday, not bad!
- I also am loving the Instagram app on my phone.
- What did we do before Youtube? I use it for everything. Can't figure out how to close those frigin beach tent things? Check Youtube. Need a laugh? check Youtube. Want to know how to French braid your 2 year olds hair? Check Youtube! I wanted to try a french on K's hair (and my own) so I watched a video and this is my result (see the below pic). First try too, not bad if I say so myself!

Friday Night Leftovers......day late and potty training
Ahh yes....I am a day late, sue me~
- I returned to work after a 13 day vacation. It SUCKED. My new job is a bit overwhelming. Mostly because I still have to do all my old job plus take on a huge amount more. Suck it. It is what it is. I openly told my new Boss on Thursday that I was overwhelmed by all the new tasks and the fact that I need to hire someone to take on part of my old tasks. He agreed to slow down the transition of a few items until the hiring is completed. That helped a lot.
- I am attempting some potty training today and tomorrow. God help me! When at Kohl's yesterday (can I just tell you I do not see what others do about that store) K found some Yo Gabba Gabba undies (boy undies) that she "had" to have. I explained that she could but that in order to wear them she HAD to go pee on the pot. When we came home last night, she peed on the pot. SCORE! She also peed on the pot after her nap yesterday. This morning she woke up with a soaked dipe (expected) but so far we have been wearing our Plex undies and trying the potty every 25 mins or so. Still nothing and it is 9:50.....
- This is the first weekend in the past 8 and the next 6 where I have NO plans. I love it.
- T has spent the past week stripping and power washing our deck in preparation for staining it. I can't tell if he is just really Flipping slow or if it is just a really long process. Either way I hope it is done soon because I want my deck furniture up yesterday!
- Hmmm maybe since I have no plans I will have a bonfire tonight.
- I am registering with a Personal Trainer at work on Monday. 12 sessions (=$$$$), twice a week. I need it. I need someone to kick my ass into gear. I MUST lose this weight. Bottom line. No more excuses.
- One thing my new boss seems really great on is the fact that I have a long commute (he lives in the next town over from me). He said to me that he puts in very short work days (9-4:30) and just works at night when his kids are asleep. This is great because I will feel less guilty about hitting the gym at 5:00 the 3 days I am in the office. He also said I can keep my work at home days. Score 2 for me!
- I dropped my Iphone! Luckily I did not crack the screen but did break the corner of the screen glass, so now I have this really sharp edge. I guess I should get a case of some sort.

Mourning......not the kind with a sunrise attached
No one died or anything, I am simply mourning the fact that in less than 10 hours I will be sitting in my office after a 13 day vacation (sue me, I count weekends). So depressing. On the bright side I logged in last night to browse (not read) my emails to find that I have an interview on Friday for a FULLY remote role. How nice would that be!?
K seems a lot better since returning home and getting back into a normal routine. Carrie mentioned this in the comments too and she was right on. I also managed to get her into the children's hospital yesterday and have her cast removed (it got submerged in both salt and fresh water), they re-crated her arm and all is healed fully with new bone growing. We promptly went swimming in my sister's pool! K was the happiest I had seen her in weeks.
I am still undecided/struggling with my TTC decision. I have 11 days to decide. I go in the 25th for my annual and that would be the prime time to remove the IUD, it is also my O day, so I would be safe for this month :) I have a really good friend who lost a baby early this year, and would have been due to deliver next month. Until three weeks ago I was not aware of her loss. Her loss certainly won't drive my ultimate decision but it definitely plays a part in my timing. I've been there. It hurts. I want to be sensitive to her loss.
Well wish me luck in all my upcoming decisions/opportunities. Type to you soon~

Here, that's all, nothing more.....
We are home from vacation. The week was, well, eye opening. For reasons I really can't go into.
Our rental house was nice, had everything we could need for the week. We were 2 minute walk from the bay. K and I went to the beach every single day. I did good keeping her cast dry for the first 3 days, then I lost my bag wrapping mojo and she got it wet every time we went near water.
During this week K was a total 2 year old. Defiant, line crossing, un-cooperative. I became so frustrated after repeating myself time over time and I spanked her. It does not make me proud. It was really just a whap on her bum (with the diaper on) and caused her no pain, but did cause her to know I was angry. After we both calmed down I apologized and try to explain/reason with her. It is impossible to reason with a 2 year old. Her fresh behavior has continued now that we are home. This morning I threatened that we would not go to a local parade and carnival if she would not listen to me and when she wouldn't I followed through and left her home with T (granted I did not go to the parade either, instead I went grocery shopping) sobbing on the floor. SO HARD to walk away when she is like that, but I needed to. I keep trying to tell myself that she has had a rough couple of weeks (falling, ER, xrays, cast, 5 hr drive, almost no TV, strange bed, wearing bags on her arm, getting a summer cold while away) but I still lose my patience.
Spending this week with two toddlers, one that cries ALL the time and the other (mine) that was as fresh as fresh can be, he's made me seriously have second thoughts on baby #2. I am not sure I could handle another. I get so frustrated with 1, how would I handle 2?
Since getting home I have felt kind of down. Not sure if it is because I did not thoroughly enjoy my vacation, because I am lacking sleep (K was up daily by 6am),or because I am PMS'ing. I need a me day. I go back to work on Thursday and my MIL will be away all week, so hopefully T is up for a Daddy and girl day.
Blah, anyway. Any words of wisdom/advice for getting a 2 year old to do as they are told? How about potty training tips? I just can't do the naked time routine (too much carpet in my house) and have offered lollipop pops and m&m's and only got pee on the potty once.

Friday night leftovers...the vacation version
Sorry no ability to post a linky or picture this week! Please visit Starbucks are not for zippy cups for more leftovers.
We drove to cape cod today. It took us nearly 5 hours to get here and should have taken us 3.5.
K is hating her cst now, the novelty wore off. She asks at least once every two hours if we can take it off now.
I bought a water proof sleeve for it today at a pharmacy, we'll see how it works.
I missed the package (liquor) store tonight in the cape. Luckily our friends had wine :)
The weather here is supposed to be Wonferfl most of the week, I cannot wait for some sun, salt water, sand, and seafood!
I still can't believe my 2.45 yr old has a cast on her arm. I feel like I have failed as a mom.
Some people (Rebecca) thought I was not drinking because I was TTC, but really. Simply felt I was drinking too much and needed a break. Don't worry I will make up for my wagon time this week! I have yet to decide if/when I will TTC....
Expect more photo posts this week vs. written posts.
Have a happy and safe 4th everyone!!!
