Smell the sweetness in the air....

The Spring is truly in the air!! Oh what GREAT weather we had this weekend. It was in the 80's both Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, I got up by 7am, which if you know me, is like 4 or 5 hours before I normally get up on Saturdays. I spent my Saturday morning cleaning and doing laundry. By noon I was done with all of my "inside" weekend chores and ready to begin working on the "outside"!

When my grandmother passed away my co-workers collected money and presented it to me so that I could purchase a tree or a bush that could be planted in my yard to remember her by. Her favorite tree was Dogwood, so I went and bought one, and also bought some pretty flowers to plant in the yard.

Came home and planted some flowers, marinated chicken for a BBQ with friends, and relaxed and drank a few beers, while enjoying our first ever dinner with friends on our deck.

Sunday we slept late (11ish) then got up and ate a butter braid...yum yum! We spent to majority of our day in the yard doing yard work (and getting a bit pink on the arms), planting the tree, raking the pine cones, laying new mulch, burning the brush.

Ahh the joys of owning my own home~~I love it!

Ahhh yes.....

A nice pedicure can cure just about anything......

Just one of those days.....

Do you ever have them?

You know, the kind of day where you really didn't want to get out of bed, but you force yourself, so you go to make the coffee and get in the shower.

While in the shower you realize that you REALLY need to shave your legs, but you really don't want to have to bend over for that long...but you do it, reluctantly, only becasue you think about how it will feel when you go to bed that night if you don't (you know that really bad scratchy itchy feeling), so you bend on over spread the shaving creme and wham** slice open your ankle!

After your shower, you dry off, get dressed, comb and dry your hair and head on down to the kitchen to make your coffee and hit the road....Only to realize that you never turned the coffee pot on! So now you have to sit there staring, waiting.

So you get in the car finally and off you go, oh but wait, what is this? Your Husband took your car and left you with the gas light on!

You stop and fill up the gas tank, no issues there except that it costs like $60!

You of course get stuck behind every single school bus and at every single Red light possible.

You finally arrive at work after an hour and twenty minutes to find out you left your laptop at home!

So now the dilema...do you turn around, go home get your lap top and return to work? Do you say F it all and go home and back to bed? Or do you search to find an unoccupied computer?

Well I went home got my Laptop and returned to work...I know SHOOT ME NOW!

By the time you returned, you've missed quite a few meetings, that of course all need to be recheduled.

So your day continues......

The blood work you had the day before turns out to be not so great and you get a call from the Dr.'s office, they would like me to have more testing in a week...A WEEK! Thanks for the great news and making me wait another frigin week!

That's it-you've had enough! As you are getting ready to leave for the day, you are stopped by your boss and advised that there is a critical problem and you need to have someone on your staff (and in turn-YOU) stay and work on it....

Umm yeah it is like after 4:00 and they are all WAY smarter than you cause their gone! And you are HERE! Only one sucker was left and now he is stuck working.

At this point you are pretty sure that you'll be here until around 8 tonight....

One of those days.....do you ever have them?

My grandmother passed away in the beginning of March after a very long battle with Parkinson's disease. it was a very sad time for my family leading up to her death because she was in a lot of pain and was suffering terribly. Her passing was really a blessing for everyone, her especially.

I was so privileged to have her in my life until I was nearly 31 years old. I spent so much of my young life with her, traveling, going to the beach, shopping, all sorts of adventures. Those are the memories I will always have.

I turned 31 in March too- WOO HOO! made it another year!

Each day I get up, with much resistance, and get ready to begin my day of corporate bull shit...(Mary I envy you every morning as I begin my hour and 10 minute commute into this hell hole) I have come to the conclusion that there are hidden cameras here, cameras that film the demise of the once happy and healthy humans. The people that at one time had a social life, a family life, free time. Those are all things of the past, makes me think of the beginning of a fairy tale...
once upon a time, in a place far far away....
too bad my fairy tale ends with the good witch (me-don't laugh) hanging herself from the flag pole outside her office window! She would resort to jumping but the chances of actually living and ending up paralyzed are just too high.
