The Horizon.

There are a few things on the horizon that I am eager to share with you. Hopefully it will not be too much longer before I will be able to "publish" all the posts I have been writing but can not release just yet.....

In the meantime, the new year has been progressing nicely. I have yet to work 5 days in a week! Yeah for me! Although I think this coming week will be a week that I do in fact work 5 full days, boo hoo.

We are beginning to paint again. The first room will be T's man cave or music room in the basement. It is currently this horrible mint green color that is NOT masculine at all!

Next up will be the office, not sure which color though, I have very dark cherry wood office furniture, what do you suggest for paint colors?

Then will be the sun room and living room.

I am hopeful to have this all completed by April/May when fishing pics up again, because I am sure it will be very difficult to keep T in the house painting when the Bass are calling his name! That and because there are lots of outdoors projects that need to begin in the spring, like power washing the house, fixing the gutters, tearing down the wood shed....oh the list goes on!

We are looking into replacing the furnace this week, and it just so happens to be the coldest week of the winter. Not sure how well this will turn out, all I know is that I am glad I can go into work where it'll be warm! Our furnace is almost 30 years old. It is literally a big box made of rust. Ready to crumble apart at any given moment. It is not efficient at all, we have been going through approx $1000 worth of oil in a months time! We will be replacing it with an Energy Star model to a) provide us with some efficiency b) savings c) better environment. Can't wait to see the price tag on this job! OUCH!

Are you a regretful person?

I was talking with my friend over the weekend about regrets. About how I am a true believer in not having "regrets" relating to decisions I make in my life. If I make a decision and it winds up not being the right one, I do my best to take the outcome and learn from it, build from it, alter my future thought process, decision making based on it.

Are you a regretful person?

Ahhhh a New Year....

Happy New Year to those one or two of you that may be reading this blog....

All through the Holidays I meant (with very good intentions) to make some updates on here, but just never got around to it.

I am not one to make resolutions, because I will break them faster than I make them! But I would like to reflect back on 2007. It was a year of many mountains and valleys. I never have regrets about things that occur in my life, everything that I experience makes me stronger along the way. Just because I don't "regret" things does not mean I was not very happy to say goodbye to that year.

To stay focused on the positives of the year....

  • I started the year off with a Bang and went to Vegas with a girlfriend to celebrate our 30th birthdays! While there I learned how to play Roulette, got my picture taken with Elvis, and drank and danced like I was turning 21 again!

  • We traveled to the Bahamas for a week. Went on some crazy excursions while there...think 10 seat plane, tickets with no names, boat with no life jackets, broken motor and surrounded by sharks kind of excursions!

  • My sister and her Husband purchased their first home. Ironically it is the childhood home of my childhood best friend.

  • My marriage became stronger than ever. T and I focused on our communication with each other, saying things to each other that had been lurking in our minds for nearly 13 years. As tragic of a time it was, in the end, it was the best thing we could have done.

  • T got a new truck..I am so jealous! I want a Hybrid terribly and my car is only 4 years old so I have a hard time justifying buying myself a new car!

  • We put out 10 lobster pots.....and ate lobster many a night....

  • We bought our first home! We looked for many months and had one fall through the cracks, but in the end we wound up in the house that was meant for us. It fits us well, and we couldn't be happier.

When you look at all the good that happened, how can you really dwell on the bad? 2008 will be filled with lots of excitement, change and opportunities. Can't wait to have you all be a part of it with me!

Happy New Year~
