I guess that means it is summer. I tend to slow on the blog front this time of year. Over the past few weeks we have been enjoying the warm weather. Finally here in the North East we are getting summer weather!
I am a summer gal 110%. Bring on the heat and humidity and I am a happy girl. In our house we don't have AC on our main living level so it does make for some pretty hot and sticky days/nights all the more reason for us to get out and do things and eat LOTS of popsicles. We've been going to the beach, to Auntie's pool, to the indoor kids interactive museum, to the playscapes, the zoo and just enjoying our back yard and kiddie pool.....
I am running low on vacation time now, it makes me pretty sad to think about it. I took several days in Feb when we went to FL, a few days in May when my Dad came to visit and just recently 7 days while my Mom came to visit. I will need to be conservative with my remaining time....
I am beginning to feel badly about baby K not being in any organized play groups or child care situation. I feel like she is suffering for it. She does not have any friends her age to play with and I have tried to get her play dates but the people I plan with always seem to blow us off or cancel at the last minute.
We had the State run birth to three program come to our house last week and evaluate her speech or lack of. For expressive language she is 2-3 months behind but for the other 4 categories she is 2-3 months ahead. So when they average it all out she on target and not eligible for any state offered speech therapy. At this point she should have at least a dozen clear words in her vocab and she has maybe 3. The ladies that came were really great, they stayed a while longer and gave T and I some tips on getting her to get more consonants into her sounds. So far we have heard her increase her T's, S's and B's.
Baby K had her first hair cut this month too. It was just her bangs, but still...
So yeah, there you have our updates from the last month! Hope you all are enjoying your late spring/early summer.

I also love summer, it's like, my time! Yeah!
As far as play groups etc, I feel your pain. I am bringing Liam to Wednesday Library time (well, I am planning on it, I brought him once, RIGHT before it was going on a 3 week hiatus, go figure!) and he LOVED it!!! I didn't even think about what he was missing until I saw how happy he was and how he jumped right in. Maybe something like that in your area?
I am sorry you're worried about Baby K's talking, but, each kid moves along in that area at their own pace. My daughter (who is 12) started talking clearly at about 11-13 months in two word sentences.. Liam, he is over two and JUST started two word sentences. Most of his words can be understood, with a LOT of careful listening (and paying attention to his gestures). I was told, that as long as he's communicating, and he's making an effort, and there are a few clear (to me) words, and he makes progress, then he's fine... So, just sharing that.
She looks like she's having a blast!!
I can't believe how big she's gotten!! Adorable :)
Enjoy the summer time!
She is getting so big! What a cutie pie she is!
Try not to stress about her speech. My nephew was a late talker - now he never stops! But seriously, I am sure she will "catch up".
my dudes are behind is speech too... if they gave you any good tips on working with miss k will you please share? (this is my new profile/blog id, but it's still me!)
are you guys going to try a parent/toddler class maybe? i think we're going to do a baby gym class or art class with the guys this fall, so they get used to kids other than just family. maybe k would like that?
hope you're enjoying your summer! dig the new blog format :)
LOVE the pics! And holy CARP is that a huge kitty cat you have! LOL
